Bindu Kaimal

I have an undergraduate degree in Zoology from the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala India, an MS degree in Ecology from the Pondicherry University, India and a second MS degree in Environmental Science from the Arkansas State University, USA. Subsequently, I was awarded a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences from the Arkansas State University for my work on “Advances in analytical techniques for the detection of trace elements in feathers”. My research interests are in chemical fingerprinting of migratory bird feathers; reconstruction of environmental life histories of birds by feather laser ablation ICP-MS; analytical techniques in avian migration and stable isotopes in ecology.

I have also worked on Hornbills in Kerala, tree diversity in Kalakkad-Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (Tamil Nadu) and birds in the Aralam WLS (Kerala).
